Headwaters Trail System, Madison River Bridge

Construct a pedestrian bridge across the Madison River to join two disconnected recreational trail systems in the Three Forks and Missouri Headwaters State Park areas.

Hebgen Reservoir Shoreline Protection

Phase I of a two-phase project to address impacts from dispersed camping surrounding Hebgen Lake. Project will develop designated camp spots in dispersed camping areas along the west shore of Hebgen Lake in previously dispersed use areas tohelp address soils impacts, destruction of lakeshore vegetation, and degradation of riparian habitat.

Madison River Noxious Weed Control and Education Project

This program will address noxious weed control, prevention, and education along the Madison River below Hebgen Lake to Black’s Ford FAS.  Actions include 1) treating the river corridor, Fishing Access Sites, and Ennis Lake; 2) contributing to the Madison River Pilot Grazing Project; and 3) providing educational materials and training days.

Canaday Boat Launch Safety Improvements

Remove existing “beaverslide” style boat ramp and replace with a standard back-in boat ramp to address safety concerns and ensure safe boat launching.

Burnt Tree Hole FAS Boat Ramp and Site Enhancements

Relocate and rebuild boat ramp and perform site upgrades to protect shoreline from erosion and impacts due to launching at non-designated spots and provide quality recreational access and facilities along the Madison River.  Engineering assessment identified greater rehabilitation needs than anticipated with 2006 application.
