Giant Springs State Park Fishing Platforms |
Install five ADA accessible fishing platforms at the Children’s Fishing Pond. Project would provide safe access to the fishing pond for children and the handicapped public and mitigate current soil compaction, soil erosion, and loss of vegetative cover due to use of the site.

Mid Canon FAS Site Improvements |
Enhance the design, layout, and facilities of Mid Canon FAS. Project would include asphalt paving the access road to mitigate landowner concerns of traffic and road dust, install a new ADA vault toilet, relocate the existing vault toilet to reduce frequency of flooding from river water, and designate a boat trailer parking area and camping sites to protect riparian areas from impacts to soil, vegetation, and trees.

River's Edge Trail Resurfacing |
Install 9,400 linear feet of asphalt overlay, repair a 10x40 foot section of slumped trail, and re-establish the yellow centerline stripe to mitigate against numerous problems and safety concerns associated with cracking and surface degradation noted in on-site inspection.

Widow Coulee FAS Boat Launch Improvements |
Install a rock barb just upstream of the concrete boat launch at Widow Coulee, which would redirect the current of the Missouri River to enhance the publics’ ability to safely launch boats.

Preserving the Trails |
Purchase three subdivided parcels of land along the north shore of the Missouri River, directly across from the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center, that were listed for sale in early Spring 2006. Acquisition would preserve the viewshed from the Interpretive Center and Giant Springs State Park, provide a key link for expansion of the River’s Edge Trail on the north bank, provide for public access of the site, and prevent unwanted development.
